Once again, Chris Pratt is in the news, but not for the same reasons Hollywood actors normally make the front page. No, Chris didn’t cheat on his wife with a hooker! There are no allegations of sexual abuse! He didn’t drive drunk, and no video of him being caught in a racial slur. Chris Pratt is once again in the news because of his faith! And this is why people love to hate Christ Pratt. Before I get into it, I invite you to listen to the video that made me appreciate Chris Pratt. It was what he said during his acceptance speech at the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards. What an asshole, right? This is what blows my mind. People hate him, yet, every time I hear him speak, he always sounds like such a great dude, but people have been going after Chris Pratt for years now, and it is all because he’s so outspoken about his faith.

So what did he do this time?

During a recent interview with Page Six about his latest movie, The Guardian of the Galaxy Vol 3, Pratt made the following comment: “That’s nothing new, that’s nothing new, you know?” he replied. “If I was of this world, they would love me just like that, but as it is, I’ve chosen out of this world. That’s John 15:18 through 20,” he said. “That’s the way it is. Nothing new. 2,000 years ago, they hated him, too.” “Oh, just how you deal with anything. Like a rhino, stick your head down, you keep driving forward, you have thick skin, and if anyone gets in your way, you stick the horn right up their ass!” he joked. “When it comes to rejection, I was trained in the crucible of door-to-door sales some 25 years ago,” Pratt added. “So, you can’t turn me away. There’s no stopping us.” When Page Six published Pratt’s comments, many of his haters rushed to criticize him for supposedly comparing himself to Jesus Christ. This is not what he said at all, but people will hear what they want to hear. Their minds are already made up about him, and they will find every reason they can to criticize him.

When did this hate all start?

Back in 2021, Pratt faced backlash from transgender actor Elliot Page when she slammed the movie star for being involved with the Hillsong Church, which is supposedly an outspoken anti-LGBTQ organization. People were outraged even though Chris Pratt addressed the actress’s comment: “It has recently been suggested that I belong to a church which ‘hates a certain group of people’ and is ‘infamously anti-LGBTQ.’ Nothing could be further from the truth. I go to a church that opens their doors to absolutely everyone,” he wrote. “Despite what the Bible says about divorce, my church community was there for me every step of the way, never judging, just gracefully accompanying me on my walk,” Pratt said. “They helped me tremendously, offering love and support. It is what I have seen them do for others on countless occasions regardless of sexual orientation, race, or gender,” he added.

What kind of man is Chris Pratt?

Here are comments from people that actually spend time with him; the following video was taken from the Joe Rogan Experience Episode #1748:
James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy’s Director, said this: “It absolutely infuriates me. Chris is unspeakably kind to people; he goes out of his way to help kids. He’s an especially loving father. And there’s a lot of stuff that people have literally just made up about him about his politics, about who he is, about what he believes of other people, you know?”
Co-star Mark Ruffalo has this to say about Chris: Because of all the flack that Chris Pratt received online, several of his co-stars have decided to weigh in on the discussion. “You all, @prattprattpratt is as solid a man there is. I know him personally, and instead of casting aspersions, look at how he lives his life. He is just not overtly political, as a rule. This is a distraction. Let’s keep our eyes on the prize, friends. We are so close now” “No matter how hard it gets, stick your chest out, keep your head up, and handle it,” Co-star Zoe Saldana, 41, wrote on Twitter, quoting the late Tupac Shakur. “You got this, @prattprattpratt,” the actress added. “Your family, friends, colleagues & everyone who’s ever crossed paths with you knows your heart and your worth!”
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 co-star Will Poulter said that Chris Pratt gave him his number after he was cast in the movie just in case, he needed anything: ‘A really classy thing to do’. I love that Chris Pratt has the balls to speak about his faith and that he will continue to do so no matter what his critics have to say about it! He is also one of the few American actors that will stay out of politics and just inspire people to be better. I don’t know for you, but Chris Pratt sounds like a phenomenal dude to me!
