It’s only been a few days since Biden stepped down from the presidential race, and already we have a glimpse of what the next four months might look like. Racism this, sexism that. It seems DEI ideology will dominate the conversation. But is this really what we should be discussing?
Shouldn’t we be focusing on the real problems Americans face every day?
Do I believe that Kamala Harris was chosen by Biden because she is a black woman and that would help him get votes? Absolutely! Do I think that former Secret Service Director, Kimberly Cheatle was selected because she was a woman? Yes she was!

But should this be our main concern? Is Diversity Equality and Inclusion what the next 4 months should be about? As dangerous as DEI is, I think we have more pressing issues.
According to Pew Research, the top problems Americans want politicians to tackle include inflation, Bipartisanship, illegal immigration, the federal deficit, gun violence, moral values, and public school quality.
Instead of worrying how and why Kamala Harris has become the Democrat nominee, can we accept the fact that it is indeed the case and move forward? Leave the name-calling behind, focus on the issue that matters to Americans, and elect a president based on the promises he/she makes?
