November 9th, 2016, Trump is elected US president. The world is choked! The people were tired of career politicians and wanted a change, they were ready for a new type of president, and that is exactly what they got! Embracing the role he was given, Trump took no prisoner. Looking back, he unquestionably served his purpose. But as the disastrous Biden era comes to an end, another opportunity for change is upon the American people. A chance to elect a president with more conservative values. Someone who is not scared to go toe to toe with the madness infecting our youth. As new contenders emerge, I ask you this question: Is Ron DeSantis the man for the job?

After almost 3 years under the Biden administration, American conservatives and libertarians are once again ready for a change. But unlike 2016, Trump is not the change they need, and let me tell you why. You can divide every voter into 3 groups: those that hate you, those that love you, and those that are listening.

The ones who hate you will hate you no matter what you do. Their mind is made, and they don’t like you. You will never be able to change it; the ones who love you will support you no matter what. These are your base voters who cannot get enough of you, but the third group is the most important. They are the ones who are paying attention, listening trying to make up their minds. They might be undecided right now, but if you can convince them, they will rally behind you. Without this group, forming a new government is impossible.

Trump is too polarizing and in your face to attract individuals from this group. Although he did and would do great things for this country, he’s too easy to hate and vilify. But this is where a guy like DeSantis can step in. Using the same common sense policies deployed in Florida, he could change the direction in which this country is ended.

Freedom of choice

As an unvaccinated Canadian, I lost most of my rights during the pandemic. In my home province of Québec, we had the strictest lockdowns in the Western world! I couldn’t go to the gym, I couldn’t teach martial arts, I couldn’t go to restaurants, bars, movie theaters, I couldn’t use public transport, I wasn’t allowed to leave my country… The grocery store and pharmacies were the only places I could go.

Back then, I worked as a Sales Engineer for one of the biggest Telecommunications companies in Canada, and because I was unvaccinated, my employer threatened to fire me multiple times if I didn’t get the shots.

But this is not what was happening in Florida. I was amazed to see a leader who went against the grain and did the right thing for his citizens. Instead of forcing people into compliance, he offered choices. He treated the residents of Florida like adults. He gave them the freedom to choose!

One of the certainties in life is that shit is going to happen, and no amount of planning will prevent it from happening. But it is when shit hits the fan that people get the opportunity to shine, and shine is exactly what DeSantis did!

How was Florida so different?

Florida had no mask mandate, no mandatory vaccination, and schools didn’t remain closed! And DeSantis made sure it stayed that way with these 3 key measures.

Although all 50 states closed schools to in-person instruction at some point during the 2019-2020 school year in response to the coronavirus pandemic. They reopened on September 10th, 2020, and remained open.

In July 2020, Florida’s governor offered parents a ‘’meaningful choice’’. He understood how important it was for children to be around other children and supported parents that wanted to send their children to either in-person classroom. Learning from home also remained an option for the parents out there who preferred it.

On May 3rd, 2021, DeSantis issued an executive order barring local government and school systems from imposing COVID-19 restrictions, including mask rules and the mask mandate.

On November 18th, 2021, Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law House Bill No. 1-B, which immediately prohibited all governmental entities, educational institutions, and private employers in Florida from imposing mandatory workplace COVID-19 vaccine policies.

If you want to get vaccinated, great, go for it. If you want to wear a mask, awesome, go for it. If you want to send your kids to school or do it remotely, you have the choice! This is what FREEDOM OF CHOICE is all about.

Parental Rights in Education Bill

“We will make sure that parents can send their kids to school to get an education, not an indoctrination,”

“I don’t care what Hollywood says. I don’t care what big corporations say. Here I stand. I am not backing down.”

There was a response to the critics regarding the new ‘’Parental Rights in Education’’ bill Governor Ron DeSantis signed on March 28th, 2022.

Here is what the bill is all about:

“Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.”

The rule change bans lessons on sexual orientation and gender identity from grades 4-12 unless required by existing state standards or as part of reproductive health instruction that students can choose not to take.

The bill bans people from entering bathrooms other than their sex assigned at birth. It requires bathrooms in public places to be listed as Men, Women, or Unisex.

Is there something in there that doesn’t make sense to you? Do you think that the Florida government has gone too far?

To me, this is all common sense!

It’s about fucking time someone pushed back against this idiotic woke nonsense! Schools are supposed to teach children knowledge that will help them become functioning members of society. How is teaching kids about sex and sexual orientations helping to achieve that? They are children, not adults. Plus, teaching these matters falls under the family’s responsibilities, not the state! Let’s return to a place where acquiring knowledge, skills, and critical thinking were the objective of education, not gender studies.

Bill 1438: Protection of Children

‘’ A Port St. Lucie gay pride parade has been canceled, and other pride events have been restricted to people 21 years and older in anticipation of Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signing a bill meant to keep children out of drag shows.’’ CBC News

‘’Drag shows at businesses welcoming children are about to be effectively banned in Florida.’’ Local 10

Prohibiting a governmental entity from issuing a permit or otherwise authorizing a person to conduct a performance in violation of specified provisions; providing criminal penalties; authorizing the Division of Hotels and Restaurants of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation to fine, suspend, or revoke the license of any public lodging establishment or public food service establishment if the establishment admits a child to an adult live performance; specifying that the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation is given full power and authority to revoke or suspend the license of any person issued under the Beverage Law when it is determined or found by the division upon sufficient cause appearing that he or she is maintaining a licensed premise that admits a child to an adult live performance; prohibiting a person from knowingly admitting a child to an adult live performance, etc.

This bill is creating an uproar among the LGBTQ+ community, yet I see nothing wrong with this. Do you? Why were children going to a sexually subjective performance in the first place? And don’t you try telling me that these events are just good old fun entertainment! Have you ever been to one? Just google ‘’drag queen show’’ and tell me that this is a show that is appropriate for kids?

Due to this new bill, the Pride Alliance of Treasure Coast announced they would cancel this year’s LGBTQ+ pride parade. Basically, the parade organizers decided to cancel their event because the children could not attend? Does that sound right to you? Look at the last year’s parades, and you will see that pride is no longer about promoting gay rights but about promoting sexual preferences.

Instead of promoting people’s sexual preferences, how about we have parades for couples that have been married for 20 or 30 years, for men that work a job they hate just to be the provider their family needs, and for parents that adopt children. How about we start celebrating the people who need to be recognized for the great they are doing in this world!

Death Penalty For Child Rapists

On Monday, May 1st, Florida’s Governor signed into law House Bill 1297, which allows the death penalty for child rapists. This measure permits a jury by a vote of at least 8-4 to recommend a death sentence for individuals convicted of sexual battery on a child under 12 years old. This law will become effective on October 1st.

Both parties in both chambers of the Legislature supported the bill, despite opposition from three Democrats and two Republicans in the Senate. The passing of this bill is a significant victory for victims of child sexual abuse, as it is now considered a punishable offense under the highest penalty of the law.

‘’Capital punishment is the only appropriate sentence for child rapists.’’ Ron DeSantis

It takes balls to say this nowadays, but someone had to say I, and I’m happy he did because I feel the same.

Let’s talk numbers for a minute. Did you know that 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 7 boys are sexually abused by age 18? That only 1 in 10 sexually abused children report it? That nearly 70% of child sex offenders have between 1 and 9 victims; at least 20% have 10 to 40 victims?

If you don’t agree with this new bill, what do you think would be an appropriate punishment?

Love him or hate him, Ron Desantis is taking action, and his track record proves that he will stand and defend his positions. Isn’t this what you want from a leader? Someone ready to do what needs to be done when it needs to be done while standing strong in the face of criticism?

These are qualities of a good man, and this is why I believe a man like Ron DeSantis is what the US needs.

I want to hear from you, so let me know what you think in the comments below.
