My name is Nico Lagan, a Muay Thai Kru (instructor), Krav Maga specialist, retired amateur Muay Thai champion, men coach and a follower of Jesus Christ.

My martial art journey began more than 25 years go, before I ever set foot in a gym.

As a teenager, I was bullied. I was a coward, a victim, an easy target, and bullies knew it. I didn’t have the courage, the will, nor the skills to defend myself. I just let it happened, hoping it would end quickly. Looking back, I wish I could say that one day I stood up to my bully, but I never did…

It is not until years later that I decided to do something about it. In my early 20s, I realized that I had a choice: I could either stay a victim and a coward or, I could learn to defend myself. The decision I took that day changed my life.

This is when I discovered Muay Thai and the rest is history. I went from being a bullied teenager to becoming a Muay Thai Amateur Champion. After my competition days, I set my sights on coaching and in 2018, I became a Muay Thai Kru (instructor) recognized by the Office Board of Boxing and the Sports Authority of the Thailand Ministry of Tourism and Sport. Shortly after, I coached amateur fighters and champions.

But Muay Thai is not the only martial arts I’ve practiced. Over the years, I’ve learned boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, MMA and Israeli Krav Maga. And it is through combining their most effective techniques that I now teach men and young men, real world self-defense techniques.

I made it my mission to prepare men and young men for the real world.

Martial arts are more than learning how to defend yourself, it is a way of life. It has taught me the skills and mindset that a good man must possess. From being the protector your family needs to building the confidence to de-escalate a situation and avoid conflict, whenever possible.
